Jane Bruce

Leadership Coach, Team Coach and Speaker

Over the past 20 years, I've led and worked with mission driven organisations of all shapes & sizes across Scotland and the wider UK.

I’ve enjoyed the highs and lows of this challenging work and been through the fire of leadership to build teams and organisations focused on making a genuine impact in the world.

I’m an accredited Executive Coach and obsessed with all forms of people, organisation and performance development.

I’m excited to share what I know from a life of adventure spent running businesses, leading groups up mountains and teams on the football field.

I’d love to work with you to help take your brilliant leadership to the next level.

My story

My whole working life has been focused on getting the best out of people and organisations. My big passion is on supporting, developing and employing people who are furthest away from having access to learning and opportunities in life.

Before founding Brilliant Leaders, I was Chief Executive of Social Bite in Scotland. In this role, I led a team of 100+ staff and 90 volunteers to run a chain of social enterprise cafes, mass fundraising events and innovative housing programmes to benefit people affected by homelessness.

From 2005-2014, I was Chief Executive of Venture Scotland, an awesome youth work charity which provides a wilderness-based development programme to young people facing tough challenges.

I spent my early career at Cancer Research UK, one of the UK’s largest charities. Based in London, I trained in all aspects of fundraising, marketing and communications before leading programmes for the charity’s 30,000 volunteers.

I’m a Clore Social Fellow and have been a Board Member at Children 1st (Scotland’s national children’s charity) and The Melting Pot (Scotland’s Centre for Social Innovation) and an advisor to many other charities and social enterprises.

In my spare time, I’m a qualified football coach at Spartans FC Girls’ Academy having previously played football in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

I’m a Mum of two wonderful teenagers, sports and yoga mad and lover of all things wilderness.

I’m based in Edinburgh, Scotland and work to support leaders and teams across the UK and beyond.
